The stations are selected for little to no advertising: international ad-free radio alongside independent U.S. stations, especially college radio. Radio adds no ads of its own.
Is every broadcast completely ad-free?
The collection is curated to avoid significant advertising. Individual stations control their broadcasts, so occasional sponsorship messages, fundraising, or station announcements can still be heard.
Do I need an account or a download?
No account is needed. Use the native iPhone app or open the web player. The iPhone app keeps favorites on your phone; web favorites stay in your browser.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Radio has a native iPhone app with background listening, AirPlay, and lock-screen controls. The web player also works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Can I set a sleep timer?
Yes. On iPhone, choose 15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes. In the web player, tap the clock for 30 or 15 minutes.
Does it need the internet?
Yes. These are live station streams. Availability depends on the broadcaster and your connection.
